INTERVIEW WITH ANITA MOSER & SABINE LAUBER FROM BLANCHE BASEL

INTERVIEW WITH ANITA MOSER & SABINE LAUBER FROM BLANCHE BASEL

We've been fans of Blanche Basel and their store at Schneidergasse 27 since their beginnings. We really love their approach of offering self-made accessories and things produced mainly in Switzerland, curated with expertise and affection. Our natural skincare has been part of their assortment since 2020. As of now, it is even available in a special Soeder shop-in-shopin. We are all the more pleased that Anita Moser and Sabine Lauber answered our questions.

1. WE
Who are you? And what is your Soeder-Connection?

We are us: etmoietmoi or les Blanchettes: Anita and Sabine.
One has spent 15 years developing women's and men's shoes under her own name and selling them at home and abroad. The other has produced ten years of prêt-à-porter collections and leather jewelry and co-organized major shows of the CH fashion scene.

In 2019, we launched Blanche as a platform for Swiss design and a studio for our accessories label. Since January 2020, Soeder is also part of our range. Like Soeder, we have grown quickly. We started with five clothing labels, now there are more than fifty. Mainly with a Swiss background. That makes us proud.

2. MAKE
Why should people shop with you? What do you have that the others don't?

We are designers, not sellers. We are partners, not buyers. We are accomplices and not consultants. We love our products and like to tell about them. About how they are made and about the people behind them, almost all of whom we know personally.

3rd THINGS
Which Soeder product was the deciding factor for you to have us on your shelves - and which one really blew you away last time?

Blanche smells like leather and a bit like Resin Bay, Soeder's sauna scent oil. The classic Herbal Garden has been replaced by Grassroots as our favorite soap scent. But we still love the original scent. Currently, Hinoki Yuzu is high on Blanche's list. And the marbled Black Pine bar soap is a handcrafted gem. Very nice. Congratulations.

4. GOOD
What is your stance on sustainability - and what goals have you set to become more sustainable?

RRRR
Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle.

We believe in the creeping persuasive power of quality and "friendly takeovers." We also like to put Soeder in champagne or Coke bottles, if we have to. We run a clothing label that consistently uses existing materials for new clothes. We offer repairs in our leather factory, even though it's hardly profitable. We love products with corners and edges, with character and independence, handcrafted and contemporary. These are the things you consciously choose. They accompany us for a long time. And never disappoint us.
