Did you know that Zurich's main railway station is home to the largest covered square in Switzerland? The hall of the magnificent neo-Renaissance building by Jakob Friedrich Wanner is a proud 131 metres long, 43 metres wide and 26 metres high. With 460,000 passengers and 3,000 train journeys per day, it is not only by far the busiest railway station in Switzerland, but also one of the most important transfer points in Europe. We are very happy to have found a home right here. Some of you will have already seen the Soeder lettering in the window: Our store is just a stone's throw away from the tracks and very close to the meeting point, so you can hardly miss it. One small drawback: the fact that we have moved into the shop in the main hall has to do with the fact that construction work is going on there at the moment. So it's a pop-up store, and that means we'll have to move out again at some point. (But we try not to think about it.)
Until then, we enjoy the beautiful order that prevails in the store. This is due to one simple fact: because we concentrate on our nature care there, we have a lot of space. We used it above all for a long counter. Two elderly ladies told us during the opening days that it would look like a bar. We like the idea, because what we sell is (mostly) liquid - and smells at least as good as a cool drink.
But above all, a bar is a place where people meet, and that's exactly what we want this store tobe.It is there for customers who have to change trains in Zurich, maybe have half an hour to kill at the station. Since it is also open on Sundays and public holidays, it is also a good address for all Zurichers who notice at the weekend that they still need a gift - or that their soap or shampoo has run out, because of course one of the central components is a refill station.
Another is the test station, whereyou can thoroughly test all Soeder products. Like the counter, it is made of white tiles, which we like very much. The tiles with the beautiful rounded edges come from a company that ticks a bit like us, i.e. produces its products carefully and with a close eye on their sustainability.
So there's a lot to discover. Come and visit us, we look forward to your visit!
